How Daily Meditation Changed My Life

How Daily Meditation Changed My Life There are few habits I’ve adopted that have had as profound an impact on my life as daily meditation. It started as an experiment — something I tried out of curiosity, stress, and a deep yearning to feel more connected to myself. I never expected it would become the anchor of  daily life, nor that it would so powerfully reshape how I think, feel, and live. This is the story of how daily meditation changed my life. The Beginning: From Chaos to Curiosity A few years ago, I found myself caught in a constant loop of anxiety, overthinking, and emotional burnout. My life looked fine from the outside — a steady job, social life, health — but internally, I was overwhelmed. I was reactive, sleep-deprived, and always in my head. I tried various self-help tools: books, podcasts, even therapy. Some helped, but none gave me lasting peace. It was during one particularly restless night that I stumbled upon a guided meditation app. With nothing to los...

The Books That Changed My Life

“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”                                                                                                                     - The Alchemist               There are moments in life when a book doesn’t just entertain you — it finds you. Some helped me make sense of the world. Others helped me make sense of myself. Here are f...

An Ordinary Day That Changed Everything

Image
"Not every day will change your life. But any day can." An Ordinary Day That Changed Everything           Some days arrive like thunderclaps. You expect them. You plan for them. Milestones, decisions, turning points. You see them coming and brace yourself. But then there are other days — days that sneak in unnoticed, disguised in the most mundane ways. A Thursday like any other. A sky neither stormy nor bright. A routine morning, a regular to-do list. And yet somehow, something shifts. Something small cracks open, and nothing is quite the same again. This is the story of one of those days — an ordinary day that, looking back, quietly rearranged my entire life. The Morning: Business As Usual I woke up late. I remember that clearly. My alarm didn’t go off — or I hit snooze too many times, I’m still not sure. I rushed through my routine, grabbing toast on the way out the door. My phone was buzzing with emails, notifications, reminders. I was already behi...

How I Changed My Mind About Habits

How I Changed My Mind About Habits For years, I thought building good habits was all about discipline. I believed that if I just tried hard enough, I could myself into doing anything consistently — waking up at 5 a.m., journaling daily, working out six times a week, reading a book a week, meditating, budgeting, meal prepping… you name it, I tried to make it a habit. Every time I failed to stick to one, I blamed myself. “I just don’t have enough willpower.” “I’m lazy.” “I’ll start again Monday.” It was a cycle of extremes: start strong, burn out, feel guilty, give up, restart. Over and over. But then, slowly, my view on habits began to change. The Turning Point      What really broke the cycle was noticing how often my all-or-nothing mindset backfired. For example, I’d set a goal to work out five times a week. If I missed a day or two, I felt like I “ruined” the habit — so I’d just stop altogether and promise to “restart next month.” Same with journaling....
